Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how SwagDocs ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use our browser extension.
1. Data Collection
SwagDocs is designed to be privacy-first. We do not collect, store, share, or transmit any of your personal data, API specifications, or code to our servers or any third parties.
All processing of Swagger/OpenAPI documentation happens locally within your browser.
2. Permissions Usage
- Host Permissions ("All URLs"): Used solely to detect and interact with Swagger UI elements on the websites you visit. The extension only activates when it detects a Swagger UI structure.
- Scripting: Used to read the API definition from the current page to generate Markdown documentation.
- Storage: Used to save your local preferences (such as your custom System Prompt) directly on your device via Chrome Sync storage.
3. Third-Party Services
The extension operates entirely client-side. It does not integrate with any analytics tools, tracking pixels, or external API services.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
5. Contact
If you have questions about this policy, please open an issue on our GitHub repository.
